Performance Capabilites

Aerodynamics

We utilize interdisciplinary computations tools to provide progressive aeronautical technology capabilities including reduced cost and increase in speed of aircraft design processes as well as efficiency and utility of aircraft.   We have the expertise to support technology development for high-speed civil transports (HSCTs), advanced subsonic transports, and hypersonic vehicles of all types, as well as the need to maintain its facility capabilities through the Wind Tunnel Revitalization program.  This includes, Aerodynamic cruise performance, including subsonic and supersonic laminar flow control technology; Aircraft propulsion/airframe integration; Low speed and high lift for subsonic configurations including wake mechanics, wake vortex, and measurement technology.

Propulsion Systems

At QuantumPoint, we have been investigating the use of smart technologies applied to the component or subcomponent level in aircraft engines. We employ active monitoring and control technology techniques at the component level that can be stretched across the engine. We offer a radically new approach to the problems that seriously limit propulsion technology. We have spent significant of time, effort, and resources in analyzing environmental impacts from aircraft engines and have gathered an enormous amount of data to help in achieving emissions reduction in parallel to economic benefits (lower fuel consumption), with noise reduction. We have the expertise to provide computational fluid dynamics, thermal and flow simulations relate to aircraft engines, bird strike, structural dynamics, and aeroelasticity.  

Structures

We have the expertise to design, develop, test, and maintain all types of airframes. We have the ability to provide structural design, simulation, test coordination, structural optimization studies, flutter, and dynamics etc. We can help our customers to achieve structural integrity according to government regulations, specifications, criteria etc., for designing commercial or military transports, military fighters, as well as general aviation aircraft. Our comprehensive aircraft structural design services include Primary and Secondary Structures including items such as Spars, Ribs, Skin, Beam Shear, Beam Bending, Torsion to name a few. In addition, we also provide expertise in aircraft structural maintenance, repair advisory services.  

Materials

We have in-depth knowledge and experience in aircraft materials including metals or non-metals, all types of composites besides expertise in providing failure physics, life and damage estimation studies, material testing, and fabrication support. We provide expertise in high strength, stiffness allied with lightness, toughness, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, ease of fabrication, availability, thermal property , and cost analysis.   

Our subject matter experts have profound knowledge and experience in most of the contemporary materials used for aircraft structural design today including Aluminum Alloys, Titanium Alloys, Aluminum Lithium Alloys, Fibre Reinforced Composites, Ceramic Matrix Composites, Smart Materials such as PZT, SMA, etc. to provide improved structural design with lightweight.

Stability and Control

We provide expertise in applied aerodynamics and modern approaches relate to aircraft stability and control. Our comprehensive knowledge includes static stability and trim; stability derivatives and characteristic longitudinal and lateral-directional motions; and physical effects of the wing, fuselage, and tail on aircraft motion. Regarding Control methods and systems, we emphasize on flight vehicle stabilization by classical and modern control techniques; time and frequency domain analysis of control system performance; and human-pilot models and pilot-in-the-loop controls with applications. We also have expertise in providing V/STOL stability, dynamics, and control during transition from hover to forward flight; parameter sensitivity; and handling quality analysis of aircraft through variable flight conditions, motion at high angles-of-attack, roll coupling, and other nonlinear flight regimes. 

Avionics

We have profound knowledge of the current trends in avionics and controls to better provide operational solutions to the problems anticipated because of air traffic growth. We have the required experience and expertise for the more effective use of computer automation to manage air traffic and its integration of the technology. Our subject matter experts have performed full-scale implementation of Global Position Systems (GPS) and differential GPS for meeting the challenges of increasing congestion in the air and on the ground.   We utilize emerging technologies to offer significant enhancement of the pilot’s situational awareness, to improve safety and mission effectiveness. We provide expertise in pictorial presentations of the aircraft flight situation, voice-interactive communications with automated systems, and tactile augmentation for control manipulators.
